Mr. Derek Lee 

Derek Lee has more than 35 years of experience in the ICT market from engineering to business. Currently he is a career coacher, mentor, and advisor, dedicating his career to social innovation and nurture bright young minds to advance in the fast-paced technological environment.  He is currently an Honorary Advisor of Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association (HKETA).

Derek managed a technology start-up in year of 2000 for business and product development, specializing in design & develop network product solution to optimize IP network resiliency for Asia Pacific.  Prior to his start-up, he had more than 10 years with various management positions in number of US technology corporations, Premisys Communication, Amplify.net and Metrobility Optical Systems.  He managed regional sales & support, strategic partnership and new business development for Asia Pacific market.  Prior to his regional experience, he had 15 years of professional engineering experience of telecom network development in Hong Kong Telecom/PCCW, engaging various engineering roles in digital transmission, signaling, and broadband network infrastructure design.

Derek holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Engineering with First Class Honor from City University of Hong Kong. He was Vice Chairman & Chairman of Startup & Mentorship Sub-committee of HKETA before 2022.  He founded Innovate for Future (IFF) platform to foster technological and social innovations for our young talents in Hong Kong SAR.
