To find a solution for both environmental and efficiency issues\, electrocaloric refrigeration (ER) has been brought under the spotlight. As an eco-friendly emerging technique\, ER’s main innovation consists in high energy efficiency and employing solid materials as refrigerant\, instead of the fluids that used in vapor compression systems. NAMI’s mission is to develop novel electrocaloric materials with remarkable electrocalroic effect\, high reliability and low cost to satisfy the requirements of practical refrigeration and cooling applications. \n\n\n\n[Bio]: Dr. Liam Zhao is a senior engineer of NAMI Electronics sector\, working on novel thermal-related electronic materials and new technologies of thermal management. Prior to joining NAMI in July 2020\, Liam was first a PhD candidate\, then a postdoctoral researcher in MAE department\, HKUST\, working on multifunctional composites based on 2D materials. In the September 2022\, she has raised US$10 million in Pre-Series A+ and Pre-Series A++ financing led by Inno-chip and AAC Technologies respectively\, along with her existing investor Gaorong Capital.  \n\n\n\n[Abstract]: The miniaturization of LED makes it suitable for display screens of various sizes. As a new display technology\, Micro-LED has unique advantages in the field of micro-display\, with the characteristics of high brightness\, low power consumption and high reliability\, and is considered the only solution for AR/XR devices. Thanks to the foundation of the traditional LED manufacturing process\, the development of Micro-LED micro-display technology began with 4 inch sapphire substrate and flip-chip technology\, which are suitable for low-resolution displays\, but it cannot meet the needs of AR/XR displays. Moreover\, due to the limitation of GaN material growth and integration process\, it has been impossible to realize monolithic color display. Now\, Raysolve will redefine monolithic integration technology and realize wafer-level full-color Micro-LED micro-display chips\, which will be the best micro-display technology in the AR/XR industry in the future. \n\n\n\n[Bio]: Dr. Wing Cheung CHONG\, the founder and CEO of Raysolve\, studied his MPhil and PhD under HKUST Professor Kei May LAU\, a world-renowned professor in the field of optoelectronics. Dr. Chong has been engaged in the research and development of Micro-LED\, GaN\, semiconductor fabrication and advanced materials for over 15 years\, with over 40 publications in international journals\, 130 patents and numerous awards for his remarkable works.
